Our PAWS Pro Grooming is intended for reactive dogs (nervous, fearful, anxious or shy) who have never been professionally groomed due to some behavioral issues or have been kicked out of another grooming salon.
This is a 8 week program (8 consecutive Mondays except for statutory holidays) involving an initial behavioral assessment, daycare suitability test and slow introductions to various grooming techniques (nail clipping, ear cleaning, clippers, blowers, brushing, baths etc). This will culminate into a full groom at the end of the 8 weeks.
If your dog requires more care and attention, we will go to a maximum of consecutive 10 weeks.

Program Structure
Our Reactive Dog Grooming program spans 8 weeks, with a maximum extension to 10 weeks if necessary:
Week 1: Initial behavioral assessment and begin dog-groomer bonding process
Weeks 2-4: Continual relationship building and gradual desensitization of grooming methods
Weeks 5-6: Additional sessions to reinforce a positive grooming experience
Weeks 7-8: Full grooming sessions tailored to your dog's comfort level.

What To Expect
Please read the following carefullyWelcome to PAWS Pro Grooming at PAWS Dog Daycare. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and positive grooming experience for all dogs, especially those who are reactive, nervous, anxious, shy, or fearful.
Please read the following carefully before using our services.
1. Appointment and Scheduling
- Submit a Request: To initiate grooming services, you must submit a PAWS Pro Grooming Request form with accurate and complete information about your dog.
- Consultation: After we receive your registration, we will reach out to you to schedule a meet & greet.
- Scheduling: Our reactive dog grooming program is ONLY available on Mondays. We are unable to make accommodations for other days of the week.
2. Grooming/Training Services
- Personalized Plans: Each session will beginning with a walk and is tailored to your dog's individual needs based on the information provided.
- Professional Care: Our groomers are trained to handle reactive, anxious, shy, and fearful dogs with gentle and compassionate care.
3. Health and Safety
- Vaccinations: All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be required.
- Health Conditions: Inform us of any health issues, allergies, or medical conditions your dog may have. We may require a veterinary clearance for dogs with certain health conditions.
- Behavioral Concerns: Disclose any known behavioral issues or triggers. This helps us provide the best care for your dog.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
- Notice: Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
- Fees: A $25 cancellation fee may apply for appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice.
5. Liability
- Injury or Illness: While we take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog, PAWS Dog Daycare is not liable for any injuries or illnesses that occur during or after grooming.
- Aggressive Behavior: If your dog exhibits aggressive behaviors that poses a risk to our staff or other dogs, we reserve the right to refuse service.
6. Fees and Payment
- Fees: Our PAWS Pro grooming program starts at $650 plus GST. The fee amount may change depending on behavioral severity, breed/size and the desired grooming results.
- Payment: Payment is due in full for your first session. There are no extra charges if we need to go to the full 10 sessions.
- Additional Charges: Additional charges may apply for extra services or time required to handle behavioral issues.
7. Disclaimer
- Compatibility with Other Groomers: We make no guarantees that your dog will be able to tolerate or be handled by other groomers outside of PAWS Dog Daycare.
- Behavioral Changes: We do not guarantee your dog will exhibit the same behavior or reactions in other grooming salons or environments.
- Long-Term Behavioral Improvements: We do not guarantee any improvements in your dog’s behavior observed during our grooming sessions will be maintained in different settings or under the care of other grooming professionals.
8. Privacy
- Personal Information: We respect your privacy and will only use the information provided to deliver our grooming services. Your information will not be shared with third parties whatsoever.
